I offer a bespoke 1:1 service for young people, parents and carers giving information, advice and guidance. We will discuss employability skills, look at labour market information, identify pre-conceived barriers, build confidence, and understand personal skills. I will work with you to identify positive action and a clear vision for your personal development. You will go away with an action plan for progression and renewed confidence in yourself and your future.
I am a professional careers tutor who works with young people to raise ambition and aspiration, helping them to make informed choices. I aim to inspire and motivate individuals - to facilitate self-reflection and enable young people to better understand their capabilities and the pathways open to them. My work encompasses nurturing, coaching, advising, signposting and facilitating.
I am a registered professional with the Careers Development Institute (see here) and a qualified level 6 Careers Leader with 20 years of experience teaching and managing in both the state and private education sector. My leadership and management experience has included both academic and pastoral roles, and thus my work with young people has an all-round holistic approach. I strongly believe we all have a role to play in supporting young people to prepare for their future; to help them better understand themselves, to develop employability skills and to encourage high aspirations.

“Clare helped me in my application for a new job. She identified my skill set, helped me to evidence those strengths, and ensured my application matched the job profile. When I was shortlisted she talked me through a mock interview, increasing my confidence levels and my self-belief”.
Emma, Teacher, Somerset
“Clare at The Careers Clinic has fantastic knowledge, is highly professional and efficient, but also friendly and supportive. She has been able to offer me, as a 40 year old Mum, advice to get a new career started. Her encouragement and ideas have really helped me find a suitable course and believe in myself.”
Becky, Business Manager, Mum, and Aspiring Entrepreneur!
